Is there any carry over from a previous bill listed on your receipt? If you are new to the apartment it is possible you have the bill of someone else attached to your current bill. If not, then I am not sure what the charges may have resulted from. Can't really say for sure unless I saw the bill. You can PM me and I might have some solution for you if it is something we can help you with.

| The only bill I've seen anywhere near that was a stupid friend who used his tiny space heater to heat his apartment in the winter. Even then his bill was only like 200k. I have no explanation for yours unless it's simply some kind of meter error or you're paying for someone else' power. |

| Last month when I went on vacation I forgot to turn off my AC and my bill was less that 45,000. |

| Are you sure it is your apartment's bill. If you work for a hagwan, I would not be surprised if the owner gave you the bill for his/her hagwan. |

The secretary is looking into it. I paid the previous bill so there is no carry-over.
Oh man, that's almost a weeks pay........... |

If that's for elec alone, something is definitely amiss. I went to Thailand for a week last year and left the A/C on. My electritity for that month biil was 150K. Then again, that was an officetel. How big is you apt?
This year, my combined utils bill (elec, gas, water, managment, cable) for July was 101K. I used my air-con a LOT in July. Not only that, I left the hot water on for 6 hours one day (There was no water in the morning, and I left the tap on. The water came on when I was out).
I once got a MASSIVE bill and found out that someone was tapping into my ring-main. My bill got reduced. But, as far I know, no-one was ever prosecuted. Switch off the elec at the fuse-box. Then check the meter. Is it running? If yes, someone is scamming you. |

| The only way that is remotely possible is if you ran it all night long during your sleep. If you didn't, not possible. Also consider, you probably have a small unit. We have a big AC, and the bill was about $40, and ran it a couple hours a day. |

The electricity use is by tiers and its cumulative.
This is a hypothetical example, I'm just using these numbers to show what happens.
Tier 1 0-100 kw 100w / kwh
Tier 2 101-200kw 300w / kwh
Tier 3 201-300 kw 800w / kwh
Tier 4 301-400kw 1500w / kwh
So, you start the year at 0. By April you've used up 110 kw, so you get bumped up to Tier 2. In May you only use 80 kw, so you are at 190 kw/h. Still in Tier 2.
In June and July you use the AC a little bit, and you get to Tier 3. August use puts you into Tier 4, where you are paying 1500w / kwh.
I believe that is how the system works. Its cumulative so you could use LESS electricity, but end up paying more than the previous month because you got bumped up to the next tier. |

My monthly electric bill is 70,000won to 80,000won. One bedroom apartment, roommate lives in the living room with a huge ass television.
The AC and TV runs 24/7, three computers and a Playstation 3.
When I hear people pay 400,000won just for running their AC just blows my mind. |

this seems to happen pretty often it seems.
1. a 'glitch' in the system than included previous bills onto yours.
2. landlord reconfigured the electricity so it all goes to one meter and thus you're paying for the whole building.
3. wrong bill
if it's the 2nd scenario, you can turn off your breaker and see if your meter is still running. if so, someone is tapped into your electricity.
either way- you should not be paying that much even if your ac was running 24/7. |

HAHAHAHAHAHA,
Awesome,
My airconditioner has been on evvery day for the past 60 days. Pay around 10 000W monthly, there must be a mistake, but I'm not gonna call and complain about it.
Again,
HAHAHAHAHA |
Same here. I've run my A/C about 10 hours/day for the last couple of months (set to 25C) and my highest electric bill has been 12,500. |
