Just wondering if you know where I could find Ivory (brand) soap.

If not, do you have any suggestions of soap that's gentle and not expensive? (I don't know enough Korean to figure out what the labels say, but I can sound out Korean letters).

Most of the soaps in the store near me seem to be heavily perfumed and claim to do tons of extra mosturizing, etc. properties.

I want something like Ivory, that's gentle enough to use on face & body (and I've got sensitive skin, so I don't like heavy moisturizers like Dove . . . they'd probably make my face red).

Any suggestions?

I THINK Emart might have it. If not, find someone with a Costco card an have them pick you up some Ivory or Dial.

I live in Bundang (Seohyeon) . . . is there a Costco anywhere near here, or on the Seoul subway line ?

. . . I might consider trying to get a membership if I'm not barred from it by my Visa status.

Aren't the heavy moisturizer soaps supposed to be GOOD for people with sensitive skin?

Anyway, my advice is to MAN UP. Buy the sickly-green coloured block with extra lye which are designed for hand-washing clothes. That's a real man's soap. It's really cheap too. Also, if you like the Bruce Willis look it acts kind of like an anti-Rogain.

OK, I assume this post was meant to cause turmoil rather than to help.

I am in no way a man, and I doubt many men would like their women walking around with red, puffy faces. If you're a guy who likes that, then good for you.

Most moisturizers irritate my skin (I can only use some sunscreens . . . the great majority of them make my face burn and turn red).

My apologies =) I still think it's 1996 and everyone on the internet is a man.

Did you try any of the green tea soaps? They might work. Maybe. They seem pretty mild and not very moisturising to me anyway. Your specific ivory brand though.. I don't know.

Lotte mart by Seohyun station carries Ivory. I have also seen it in E-mart and home plus.

costco is NOT convenient for us here. Catch a 1005-1 bus (across the street from outback restaurant) to Yangjae station and then a cab to e-mart/costco.

Hi,

I get Ivory from E-Mart. I guess all E-Mart branches must carry the same stuff. Good luck!

Thanks!!! I went to Lotte Mart for the first time today, and I LOVE IT!!! I found soap and everything! No more running around Seoul looking for bedding, etc.!!! (And it's so much closer than anything by subway)!

I found real American Ivory soap in the underground imported goods market under Namdaemun market. Enter down the stairs of the Trillion building and you'll be in that special area. Those ajjumas don't seem to allow haggling for a bargain as they just have set prices like a large store would have, but it's because they have stuff you can't normally buy in Korea that comes from AAFES on the military bases.

Yeah it's not hard to find. E-mart, Homeplus, and Costco all have it.
