I'm trying to find teachers in rural Gangwon-do, specifically in
Taeback
Youngwol
JeongSun
Dokye

If you are or know any native teachers (or English speaking Korean teachers) in these areas, please contact me.

The university where I work has 5-year full tuition scholarships for high school students from those towns who have good English skills. It is for an English speaking university program.

This is a great opportunity for some hard working students from poor rural towns.

Specifically, the high schools are:
JangSeng Women's High School (Taeback)
HwangJi High School (Taeback)
YongWol High School (Youngwol)
Seok Jeong Womens' High School (Youngwol)
JeongSun High School (Jeongsun)
Dokye High School (Dokye)

These are special scholarships for students from these high schools only. If we don't find students the scholarships aren't given to anyone.

I'm in Jeongseon, but I don't know of any high school teachers as we're all elementary and middle school as far as I know, but there may be new high school teachers. There's only a small handful of us, but there was a good intake so there's now more people than I know as we haven't had a chance to meet. I guess all the newbies met during orientation and some are probably high school teachers. We now travel to fewer schools as a result. I heard the intake was so good that EPIK Gangwondo is not hiring right now as all positions were filled so there must be many new high school teachers.

Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Why don't you just contact the area co-ordinator or the office in Chuncheon. May prove more fruitful than Daves.

Heya JelloBean,

If this is still active give me a yell as I'm in Taebaek and can put you in contact with native (& Korean) teachers in each of those schools.

I know of quite a few kids who are highly talented in English, but due to being in Taebaek are struggling with university choice.

if you want to get hold of me,

ootsmchaggis AT gmail dot com

Thanks
