Here's the article...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tom-dantoni/amy-goodman-violently-arr_b_123062.html

Here's the Youtube video...

This is crazy. She was arrested trying to get the police to free two of her colleagues. According to the article they were simply covering protests of the convention.

So now they are arresting journalists for doing their jobs? What is happening to the US?

Oh, get real. That's not even close to journalism. It's a blog.

I need more information. How did the two producers get arrested in the first place? What kind of 'suspicious behavior'?

Don't blast me if I have recalled incorrectly but I believe the charge was something like "intent to riot."

Do these anarchists and violent hippies think they are influencing policy in their favour?

If the anarchists didn't show up and start tearing shit apart, Goodman would be free on the streets.

Forgive me for asking for specifics.

I have to wonder if maybe the demonstrators aren't channeling the '68 riots in Chicago. The scene of tear gas drifting into the Democratic convention played a significant part in defeating HHH that year. RE: The Armies of the Night and Chicago and the Siege of Miami.

The protesters are headed by a group called "Recreate 86".

If the police say "go away" it's a good idea to go away. I'd laugh harder amy if I didn't think you were just an attention seeker.

Need to watch the shows before you start pooh-poohing the importance of what is happening during the conventions. Protesters in MN were "preemptively" arrested after their houses were raid and the FBI found such terrorist devices as kitchen knifes, rags and lawnmower fuel. Now the US law enforcement is launching "preemptive strikes" on its own citizens. Amy Goodman and the Democracy now staff are the only "major" news source reporting on the protests at the conventions.
The site is http://www.democracynow.org/
The Tuesday show should be posted around 1:00 am on Wednesday morning.

1968 protest was at the Democratic convention. Seems people protest at the wrong place.

There was a reporter arrested, an ABC reporter. This was at the Democratic Convention in Denver.

From what I understood, those arrested left the authorized "protest" route. They threatened Republican delegates to the Convention, threatened businesses in the area, and were violent toward the police.

When you think of these type of protesters, think of Portland.

Damage to Private property.
Damage to local Businesses.
Damage to the city's image.

Well, whether it's Recreate 'the immortal midterm elections of '86' or the Election of '68, I'm waiting for the nomination of Pigasus for president. Oh wait, that may happen at the RP convention down the street. Rolling Eyes
