They're saying it's the next step towards an entire new Windows replacement.

It's interesting.

I'd take a look at the comic strip explanation of the browser that Google have made. Basically it doesn't work in the single threaded way that other browsers operate (for instance, if your web page is executing Javascript and hits a bug then your whole browser will crash because it is single threaded) Google's browser can execute different web based applications simultaneously.

It's a bit harsh on Firefox though; might be a Firefox killer.

So far I like it. Not too much change. I'd like to see more integration with gmail, google reader, google talk etc. I'm sure that will come in time.

I'm sure that in typical Google fashion, it tracks everything you do to make an advertising/marketing/??? profile.

Google Earth indeed.

I'm sure this had something to do with Google releasing a browser:

I can't seem to download the version with English menus. Did anyone find that one? Or is it Korean by default?

I was surprised when my good mate admitted he'd been working on chrome's UI and frontend for the last while. He'd been evasive about his google work for about a year.

I'd been running alongside firefox today, and i actually dig the UI, download manager, but it's buggy as hell. I am not seeing the multiple process advantage yet, with the whole browser freezing on multiple occasions, this eslcafe text area keeps looking being erratic with curor placement, and text disappearing, and the rendering engine has failed on over half of my daily websites. Even gmail has rendering glitches. but aside from the beta bitch, i have high hope for this.

Now, i just need adblock on this.

I just found out about it after work and I'm posting in Daves right now through it.

Seems pretty good, though I'm noticing minor glitches.

I find it interesting that they went with webkit. I had used a Mac for the past three years (I'm on Vista now) and I loved Safari, but Google didn't offer the best Safari support.
