I need a new power cable for my iBook. I read there is an Apple store at COEX, but where exactly? That mall is so big, I don't know where to start.

Thanks!

I was wondering the same exact thing, I want to buy a new iPod and refurbish my old one. But I couldn't find it either. I know it's there somewhere.

Sorry I can't remember the name of it, but its near the big book store on the ground level. If you enter the mall from the subway, walk straight for a few hundred meters. When that hallway V's, head left and take the next right after the bookstore. It's 20 meters or so up on your left.

I think that's where it is anyways. That mall is pretty big and every time I go there I am always a little confused.

I hope that helps, if not.....good luck!!!

Kinda OT, but I tried calling the Apple Store all weekend and got a prerecorded message that I didn't understand. 080-3404-622 is the right number, right? Are they not open on weekends?

I bet you can set up an English account and buy from www.gmarket.com as well. Should do a search and see if you can find it. You can buy via paypal (takes a few days) or bank transfer, as well as other options.

The Apple power cord will handle voltages from 110 VAC (US/Canada) to 220 VAC (UK, Korea, etc.). You can use the same cord in Canada and Korea with no problems whatsoever; all you need is the plug adapter so it'll fit the socket. These are dirt cheap.

oh really? that's good to know, thanks for the info!

right now i'm debating whether or not i should shell out yet another 120$ on a power cord (it's my third since 2005), or just buy the new MacBook....

I've had my iBook since mid-2005. Is it time for an upgrade, am I obsolete? Or should I just keep my good 'ol G4?

Well, if it still does everything you need it to do, it's not obsolete for you.

That being said, you (and II bought my Powerbook in November '05) just missed the move from PowerPC to Intel architecture. The new models will certainly feature more and faster processor cores, more memory, more HD space, etc.; perhaps their biggest advantage, especially vis--vis living in Korea, is the ability to run Windows and Windows apps via Boot Camp or virtualization (programs like Parallels or Fusion). This is because nearly everything useful on the Korean web requires Windows, Internet Explorer, and a bevy of ActiveX (cr)applets in order to work.

New MacBooks and MacBook Pros are due this month or next. If you're planning to upgrade, it might be worth the wait; on the other hand, if you don't care about being on the bleeding edge of technology, it might be worth buying now from Apple Korea (they haven't adjusted their prices to account for the steep decline of the won, so they now compare VERY favorably to the US/Canada prices). If you order by phone, you can get an English speaker (based out of Australia, I'm told), ask for your educator's discount (about 100,000 won on most models), and pay by bank transfer (useful if you don't have a Korean credit card, as Apple Korea doesn't accept overseas-issued cards).

thank you for your useful response!!

i'm not too worried now about running many Korean programs- i can use my school's PC for that matter, and i am returning home to Canada in 5 months. but that's a good point if you're planning to stay longer.

i definitely would wait an extra month for the upgraded version of Macbook, and thanks for the tip about the teacher's discount. i'll consider this, see my budget... lots to think about!

Smile

oh yes, and i failed to mention that my ibook suddenly shuts down in the middle of nowhere, and every time i need to take out the battery, put it back and reset the computer. maybe it's slowly dying on me.
