I currently have the 8800GTS (320mb), and I want to get either the Radeon 4570 or the GX260. I'd like to get some money for my card to put towards the new one.
Does Yongsan have any traders that take second-hand stuff? |

Sure, the flea market on the back side of son-in plaza has vendors who buy and sell parts but you can expect to get about 10-20% of the current retail price of your card.

You're going to take a really big hit if you're want to sell a GPU in Yongsan. It's the nature of tech. Stuff more than 1 year old is almost worthless. |

How about selling it privately? How much is a fair asking price? I was hoping for around 150,000won. Too high? |

No chance mate. They're listed on Danawa for new at 153,000. And that's way overpriced when you consider the superior 8800GT is just about the same price. Why would anyone buy a used and inferior-spec card.
Put it on Dave's Buy/Sell/Trade and you might get someone who would see that card as a worthwhile upgrade for around 75,000. |

Wow, it's amazing how fast GPUs devalue. A few months ago, this card was in the 300k region. Still, 75k is better than a kick in the nuts. |

I can offer you 75k and a kick in the nuts. (Optional.)
IMO it's better to buy either a high end part and keep it for 2/3 years or buy mainstream and upgrade every year, than trying to jump on the high end bandwagon when each gen comes out. |

Depends what kind of user you are. Some gamers just can't live with a GPU more than 1 year old. For instance, this time last year, my GPU was a 7900GT. When Crysis came out in October 2007 I couldn't get more than 15-20 FPS. Even on medium settings. Unplayable. Yet the 7900GT was a high-end card when it came out a year before that.
If you want to play the newest games, as they come out, at high settings, then you need to upgrade your GPU and maybe CPU about every year. That's going to be about 500,000 per year. Not so much, if you ask me.
It all depends on how much performance you see as the least acceptable.
Crysis Warhead is out this month. So is Farcry 2. And Grand Theft Auto 4 will be available for PC before the end of this year.
All good reasons to get the best graphics card you can afford. |

Absolutely. But for most people with kids like myself, finding the time to play all those games isn't easy. And there's other uses for the money. Still I've found that it's just as much fun playing games when they're a year or two old and they run on any old PC. Hell I still play Warcraft User maps. |
