I'm actually pretty damn interested to see how this thing goes down. I'm guessing O'Reilly will ask some tough questions and i'm eager to see how Obama responds. Who knows though...there may have been some backdoor agreements on what's is and isn't OK to ask/delve into.

Watching part of it on the Factor website. The interview is split up over the next few days.

First off, I have more respect for Obama for interviewing with Bill O Reilly.

Secondly, after seeing the interview, I'm more convinced that Obama isn't our man.

Thirdly, I want to see McCain answer the same questions and get the same pressure that Obama had.

Yeah, I agree with what you say.

Also, Bill doesn't seem very respectful to Obama...or does he to you guys? I think a reporter can ask tough questions, but being respectful...like Tim Russert.

I guess he doesn't want to look like an ass if another Bush gets by with a free pass. So you are right in that McCain should be asked the same hard questions.

I'm 100% with you on that one. If O'Reilly went after guests on the right like he did with Obama, he'd be a much more credible journalist in my opinion.

Yeah, he appeared quite rude to Obama in my opinion. You can ask tough questions and not be a giant a-hole about it. The constant interruptions and contemptuous faces really bothered me.

Bill doesn't tolerate bloviating. All politicians are well known to deflect questions with answers that have nothing to do with the question. Bill has interviewed enough politicians to know when to cut through the crap and stay on topic.

A reporter: Sir, what do you intend to do about the bad economy?
Generic Politician: I'm glad you asked me that. Because, when I was a little boy, my father taught the the value of the dollar. Blah Blah blah....

Bill O'Reilly = No Bloviating.

Yeah, but by contrast look at the interview he's done with President Bush.

Obama spent some time waffling around and got called on it.

And I'd love to see Mccain get grilled in that way, but Fox News won't be doing it that's for damn sure heh.

Obama gave a good interview but he always interviews well. When does Obama not do a good job on tv? He is as good on tv as Bill Clinton was.

Now all he needs to do is change his plan cancel future weapons projects and tell the antiwar (only by the US) movement to go jump in a lake.

Anybody who believes Bill O'Reilly is an idiot. Seriously. Not because of his loud mouthed obnoxious style, which is grating to me, but because he's a serial liar.

He's chronically told numberous lies and deliberate misrepresentations over the years, and these have thoroughly, repeatedly debunked.

O'Reilly is entitled to his own opinions. He's not entitled to his own facts. Whether or not you like Al Franken, his book factually deconstructs the various lies O'Reilly's told over the years. Media matters has done so as well.

As for "O'Reilly doesn't tolerate bloviating", I've never read a less self-aware statement *in my life*. What is O'Reilly if not a bloviator?

He said the following on his radio program: "Nobody knows more about World War II than me". Oh, really? Wow. You have a Ph.d in history now, Bill?

As for the Obama interview, I think Obama is addressing a specific audience (O'Reilly's demo is old, white people who are conservative).

He knows it would be counter-productive to be too combative, and he's trying to assure the audience that he's acceptable, not some black panther communist.

As far as that goes, I thought he did fairly well.

It was a good interview to do because not only is it major attention over the next few days right after the Republican convention, but it also means that O'Reilly and others can't claim that Obama is avoiding them for the time being as well, and if they aren't mean in the future they could get more interviews with him.

I actually don't dislike O'Reilly even though I almost never agree with him because he has a good rapport even with people like Bill Maher that he doesn't agree with at all, and he just likes debate for the sake of debate.

B. O'Riley is a terrible and obnoxious journalist. B. Obama's answers on defense and security sounded good. But does he sincerely believe what he said or has he been coached on talking points?
