Anyone else having issues? It seems to have slowed things down a bit, and crashes.

I still use Firefox 2 because I don't like the new navigation buttons/bar and the address drop-down list. I like my browser very clean and having those 10 or however many addresses drop down EVERY time, no matter if I've cleared my history or not, annoys me.

Sorry, can't help with your issues though.

you can get rid of those addresses that drop down. well, not completely, theres 1 left on mine. i found a website that explains how to do it. pretty easy actually. you can enter the number of addresses you want to drop down, but even though i entered 0, theres still 1 address that drops down.

I was browsing on another forum (for my new ASUS EEE 901) and saw this thread about making firefox faster. Might be basic stuff you already know, but was news to me.

Mine crashes every 10 webpages. I'm forced to use internet explorer for now. Thinking about downgrading.

I can't get it to clear the webpages that I've visited. I've gone to options, then privacy and checked all the stuff including "always clear personal data when Firefox closes" but still in my address bar it remembers ALL the sites I've visited. Anyone know how to clear this?

CTRL+SHFT+DEL should do the trick.

or Tools > Clear all Private Data.

Also go into Options>Privacy tab. Second to last check box - clear all private data when i close FF. This will get rid of everything when it closes.

FF3 is very bloaty, but I've got to say, the new address bar functions are really convenient.

It might improve after a few updates, but I'm not sure, they have gotten incrementally more bloated, release after release.

Get more RAM?

Doesn't it also recognize bookmarks...so they'll be listed when you're typing in something in the address bar as well.

Thanks but tried this already and STILL has all the sites in the address bar. The older version worked flawlessly so this is frustrating.

type about:config in the address bar and then scroll down and look for browser.urlbar.maxRichResults =#
enter 0 for the number that is there and then exit and restart firefox. then there shouldn't be any other address in the address bar.

there are other things you can change about firefox, go to

Hate to sound like a fan boy but give opera a shot. Loads in less than half the time as firefox. Most of the plug ins are built in (make sure you disable the torrent downloader tho).

I like it. It is nice and fast and has everything most people need.

I've been having an annoyance with the statusbar constantly saying:

"One active download (Unknown time remaining)"

When I click it, it pops up the FF3 download manager and there is nothing there. I'm not downloading anything.

Yeah this is pissing me off too, and downloads once finished are not clearing from the download tray unless i exit or manually clear them, even though its set to auto.
