In Baton Rouge, a tree fell on a house, killing two people who had evacuated from further south in Louisiana. Yeah. Sounds like Katrina to me.
I think you know what I meant when I said that. In any case, here come the childish spin games, I imagine. |

... was clearly referring to Gustav, NOT Katrina. You should say what you mean, at least if you want people to take you seriously. You were wrong. There were 18 deaths. |

| No. I was completely right. Gustav does not compare to Katrina in any way, especially when discussing govt responses and aftermaths. |

"Gustav does not compare to Katrina in any way" That's not what you initially said.
What you did say, was:
| Quote: |
| "I would be very surprised if there were any deaths or injuries this time round". |
Seems to me you're the one doing the spinning. |

Jesucristo. Que buscapelea.
Very well. I shall amend it for the anal among us.
"I would be very surprised if there were any comparable deaths or injuries this time around." That derives from the context of my remarks, that is what I meant, and I think you know that. |

Are you comparing Gustav, the various govts' response, and its aftermath to this, Chris_J2? |

No argument whatsoever, that all government bodies / parties have done a much better job, this time round. Let's hope they keep up the good work, if 'Ike' rears its ugly head near the Gulf Coast next week.
What a difference one word makes, too ('comparable'). |
