So I live down in Gwangju, and haven't been to Seoul yet. I'm heading up for the holiday with a friend. We're looking to stay in Itaewon in a cheap hotel that isn't shite.

I don't know anything about the area, I simply know we're arriving by bus, and then somehow getting to the neighborhood.

Was looking to see if anyone had adivce on a nice cheap place to stay, and nice place for dinner, and then an AWESOME place to go dancing Smile

There is a direct KTX rail line from Gwangju to Seoul Station. Much faster than the bus. But if you still go by bus the subway lines usually have a station adjacent to the long distance bus stations.

I stayed in the Crown Hotel last August, & it was okay. Just around the corner from Itaewon, & close to 2 subway stations on line 6 (exit 3). (Noksapyeong / Itaewon)

Room Prices: w64,900 - 79,900 / night

Insadong is also worth checking out. And the Korean War Museum at nearby Samgachi.

For cheaper, try:

Easy enough to get to by subway, & around 24,000 won for an aircon room.
