I went to Kfc to get my once a month chicken fix. When I got there they had no regular chicken. They told me that it would take 20 minutes.

I asked the girl why the last 5 times I have been here there has been no regular chicken. She admitted that there would be no regular chicken ever at their location.

They will only have spicey chicken and garlic chicken. For some reason this really pissed me off. When she said this is Korea and not America it was like putting salt in my wound.

Didn't the regular chicken make Kfc in the first place? I have watched many Koreans eating it and they seam to like it. The Chinese like it so much that it is more popular than Mcdonalds.

So why can't I just get a friggin piece of chicken.

I always hated that about the KFC in Nampo Dong. The Popeyes was worse with the standard red pepper treatment.

They don't make it at all. The 20 minutes story was just a way of trying to get you to order another product. That's why I got pissed off because I kept coming back thinking it was just bad timing and they gave the same 20 minute story.

That day she admitted they would not be making it at all.

textbook Korean excuse. If you hear a fishy excuse that stalls or squirms it's their way of saying "we can't accomodate you but rather than admit a minor flaw or bad circumstances we'll just tell an outright lie and hope you get the hint" It's just how their way of softening language works. Their language is incredibly blunt (especially compared to sister language Japanese..."GIVE ME please honorably") so their way of softening things is by avoiding negative responses with (what is to Koreans) obviously BS excuses. Don't get me wrong, it's annoying as all *beep*, and some and are definitely much better at it than others.

In a bigger city I'll pull out the map and ask a local which road at the intersection leads to major tourist attraction "X". The person will look at the map for a second, realize s/he is no good at reading maps and then says "You should get a taxi, you can't walk that far. That is too far for you, you should give up walking" I say "No, I'm fine" I still say that, but I've learned not to ask them the same question again. That only results in them holding the map upside down for 3 minutes while they try to decipher a (Korean!) map in order to save face.

Just call them ahead of time. 20 Minutes before you go, say you want an order of original recipe.


I've noticed the KFC and Popeyes here don't cook a lot of chicken and have it ready. Maybe they don't like the idea of cooking chicken and having it sit under a heat lamp.

I know not to piss off anyone who works fast food. I've heard horror stories from my buddies who used to work at one in high school. When someone pissed them off, they would take it out on the food. Remember that.

KFC tastes like soggy cardboard deep fried...why would you want to eat that junk anyways? Korean style fried chicken is much better anyways like Kyochon or something.

I like eating KFC original recipe with white rice and kimchee.

The saltiness of the KFC goes really well with rice. the kimchee just makes it a perfect combination.
