Nah, it's like when I ask my students what they did on their summer holiday. "Read a book." Well, I know they didn't read books all day every day, but I think they just point out the highlights.

There are many activities that go on all day Sunday at many churches--especially with young people.

I'm a member of our university's campus church. Our international service (in English) lasts about 1-1/2 hours, while the Korean service might be a couple hours. There are small groups that often meet sometime during the day. If someone is on a praise team (groups that provide music during the services), they might have meetings and practice outside of the service. The list goes on and on, and will vary from church to church and individual to individual.

Personally, I was a deacon in the church and led a small group, and would frequently have meetings on Sundays. However, as my schedule has been pretty tight this year, I had to hold off on those activities.

I've known Korean Christians who spend about 9am to 3pm in church every Sunday. Even worse when you consider this is their only day off work in a lot of cases.

I was once banging this freaky Christian girl, she would show up blind drunk at my doorstep around 3AM on a Saturday night and then would be up bright & early for church at 9AM, she taught Sunday school and she said she would usually get home at 9PM on the Sunday evening after all the activities had finished.

When a kid says he is in church, he may very well mean all day. One of my neighbors goes to church at 4:30AM every single day. Lord alone knows how long that is on Sunday. Lots of these churches are close to being cults. Some of them are flat out cults.

Yeah. I was trying to work this out with some lower level kids.

What did you do on Sunday?
"Went to church."
What did you do on Sunday afternoon?
"Went to church."
Oh okay. What did you do on Sunday morning?
"Went to church."

Shocked

I seem to remember she finally explained it as like 10-4, or something ridiculous like that. Poor kid.
