I've decided I need some structure and logical progression in my teaching approach, ESPECIALLY as it applies to my special after school class which has only 12 students.. most of whom are far more interested/motivated than my normal motley crew.
they're high school kids.. techical/vocational.. not the sharpest tools in the shed..
though they amuse me.. today we were practicing sentences with "I can.. or I can't" and all of their I can't answers involved.
I can't study.
or
I can't stay awake.
I was cracking up on the can't study line..
anyways.. back to topic.. my VP sits in on this class and is involved, so it has to be good
I was told by some experienced teachers I met during orientation that Side by Side and Up N Away were good books for my purposes.
anyone else used these books, and if so.. did you like them or not and why?
Any other suggestions? |
