Maybe this movie sucks, because they say it sucks. It comes out in Korea on Sept. 11th so we will see if it really sucks like they over in America say. so true. I have also seen the preview and love the mood the cinematographer has made. its got that indie feel but also high studio quality
dark lighting and fast action and quick cuts. I saw the original and thought it was good..
also I love Indie scenic films, and I think a lot of this film was shot on location, so we will see a lot of bangkok.. one scene I heard will be in SOI cowboy hahhah MAK MAK! Smile

Yeah, no advance screenings should tell you enough. Idea Looks like another unnecessary remake. I like Bangkok, but won't be bothered with this to catch some of it.

'Birdy' is one of my favorite N. Cage movies, along with 'Raising Arizona' and 'Leaving Las Vegas'.

I think it'll probably be a rental sleeper.

People have had their asses burned this summer with crap like Wil Smith's most recent movie, Hancock. People got all pumped by the previews, went to the movie going, "Yah! Wil Smith, baby -- it's gonna be great!" Then, they exited the movie afterward, going, "Yah... that was Wil Smith..." Once they got home, they realized they'd just spent a chunk of money on tickets and popcorn, along with one big turd of a movie, and felt let down.

People are probably being a little more careful with their movie pics, and I don't think this new Nick Gage movie was promoted much. It's Lionsgate, after all. They make their big money off of movies that don't debut huge, but go on to become cult classics (Stargate).

Movies and all that go along with it are freakin' expensive anymore. People in the US are still keeping their belts tight after the recent hike in gas prices (which has hiked prices on everything else). Now, guess what -- gas is coming down, but prices on everything else are not. One of the first things to go is that extra $35 you'd spend on a night out at the movies.

He looks like he's getting even with the chicks who torched him in "The Wickerman".

Personally, I just want to see some more Prachya Pinkaew movies. Check out this clip from Tom Yum Goong(The protector). There's 4 minutes of action without a single cut.

Bangkok Dangerous maybe didn't do well because poeple are tired of being conned by slick trailers. As someone already mentioned, Hancock was a horrible film. Mike Myers' Love Guru is at best a video rental movie. The only film that was okay was the new Batman.

Speaking of good Nicolas Cage films, I have to say Lord of War was pretty damn good.

Yeah, I remember that scene. No stranger to that Thai guy from Ong Bak, I was disappointed at first with the action...then I realized that there were no cuts...at all...

They should have including a scene of naked ladies getting all lathered up with sudds at the massage parlours.

No Tuk Tuks going off a cliff.

Private Dancer by Steven Leather would make a great movie. It's a great read. Sooo realistic. The author must have been a monger

Sean Penn was right..........Nic Cage is a sellout. He said that a while ago and it put a damper on a long-standing friendship that they had (no kidding, it would). I think Cage is a good actor, but he just goes for the bucks now.

Maybe he just wants to work rather than sit on his butt waiting for a decent project to come along.

Proof of this is the new Al Pacino / Robert De Niro film Rightous Kill. People are saying that it sucks and you should wait for the dvd. The problem was a weak script.

Also look at The Incredible Hulk. Even Edward Norton couldn't save that film.

Most Hollywood movies suck nowadays. Only about 1 in 50 are really good.

well the deniro and pacino are in there 60's now,. I think they waited to long to work together.. they should have made some films together earlier on. that would have been epic, maybe in the 80's..
