Geesh... saw three female students on campus today at my uni that appeared to not even be wearing shorts! What they were wearing was a long-sleeved white shirt which was belted at the waist, and hung down just barely covering their crotch.
Doesn't leave much to the imagination!
An American student would probably get called-out on that.
Korean youth = not conservative anymore!
EDIT:
The style looks like this, with a belt around the waist:

I have more of a tendency to try not to look at a student like that (in class). |

mmmm...uni girls. Wouldn't think of poking about with one of my own students if I taught uni, but the other guys students are fair game. |

I worked a uni in Canada for nine years. Every Sept. was heavenly - the weather still warm and the new crop of 1st-year girls was walking around in their short shorts & halter tops, or see-through muslim dresses. Once, I was so distracted I walked into big, cement pillar. |

The 1st-year students here are usually more conservative in dress. After their 1st year, they start experimenting. We draw a lot of people from outside of Seoul to this school. Maybe they are more conservative. |

Yes the white shirt + belt combination is popular in Korea. Very short indeed. AND paired with high heels.
So much for being conservative. I would never pair super short skirts/shorts/dresses with high heels.
It's a bit trashy. |
