It's been on my mind since the whole "elitist" canard got thrown out in Obama's face by Hillary. Do I really want a president who can bowl as well as I can? Don't I really need leaders who went to better schools than most of us did, and who've already displayed themselves more capable at the job than I would be or most people you might pull in off the street?

In a sense, isn't the whole "elitist" meme just another way to embrace, and even glorify ... mediocrity?

No. Hillary offered the comment after Barack had made an elitist comment. A mind-boggling stupid, arrogant, idiotic comment, painting Pennsylvanians as racist, gun-totting, religious nutbars, all while emphasizing that Obama's anti-free trade positions were just a pander.

I predict an Obama/Biden landslide come November.

It's the economy, stupid.

What makes OBama such an expert on the economy.

Here is what is going to happen when you put Obama and Biden in office.

1. More social programs -> higher taxes

2. High taxes mean less money for the tax payer

3. Less money for the tax payer means they have to tighten their belts, and won't go out and buy that new washer/dryer, or go out to eat at that new trendy restaurant.

4. The economy slows down because people are hoarding their cash.

Thank you Democrats for sinking the economy into a bigger whole.

BTW, taxes for the rich is the biggest falacy the Democrats ever created. YOUR definition of rich is FAAAAAAR from the Democrat's definition of Rich.

Hmm..... You are single and you make over $50,000 / year. Congratulations! You are Rich! Welcome to the increased tax bracket.

Care to explain why the economy historically does better under Democrats?

The biggest con job in recent American history is the Republican cut taxes at all costs scam. I remember my Reagan tax cut. It amounted to $20 a month...not even enough to go out for a decent dinner and a movie once a month, but it left the gov't several additional billion dollars short--so they borrowed and now we have to pay it back with interest. Great way to run an economy.

Cut the taxes on a family of four living on $150,000 a year and they will not eat more, they won't buy more cars, refrigerators or clothes. They already have that stuff.

Then I'm sure you remember the economy that was left Reagan by the Carter administration. That's when the economy was really booming, eh?
