Along the same lines, I've been looking for a Nazi outfit for my trip to Israel and a KKK outfit for when I'm in Compton. |

Madoka, it is not really along the same lines. You can't compare a national football team to a genocidal army.
Unless I am mistaken, the national team have not been outside South Korean apartment buildings burning crosses and murdering people.
Did they wear it during the war when they were invading the South?
I don't think they did. It is just a football shirt and I would like to buy it for my boyfriend.
Wylies99, He will probably wear it wherever he is when he wants to wear it.
I know you all may have different opinions, but please remember my original post:

Thank you. |

ewok, I look forward to 1st of April when North Korea come to Seoul to play football. I wonder how many people will be arrested in the stadium. If someone can tell me where to buy a shirt, we wil put your theory to the test.
Please let me know the source of your information. I would hate to think that you are just assuming. |

I'd try heading up to Pyongyang. They probably sell jerseys up there. Good luck with that ! |

Try the shops in Itaewon that sell all the jerseys. One of mw coworkers had a jersey custom made there so I'm sure you could get them to make a North Korea jersey. |

In the past, I'm sure if someone was wearing a NK jersey walking around, he'd get arrested. But, I think these days as long as you aren't parading down the street chanting pro-NK slogans with a huge flag and burning the SK one, it shouldn't be a problem. If you could find one, that is. |

Well, you've completely missed my point. If your boyfriend wants to wear this shirt in Canada, the US, or any number of other countries, it's not a big deal. Wearing it in South Korea makes him insensitive at the least and a jackass looking for trouble at worst. Wear a Confederate flag in Korea - likely not a big deal. Wear a Confederate flag in Harlem, you are going to get beat down and no one would have sympathy for such an idiot. |

Agreed. Wearing that jersey will only make a foreigner a big target for trouble. |

OP, I think it's a bad idea and you shouldn't do it.
It's like wearing a Russian logo in Georgia.
Or a Turkish logo in Armenia.
Or a.....well you get the point. |

Well, if she couldn't understand what's wrong with a Nazi outfit in Israel or a KKK outfit in Compton, then sadly, no I don't think she does understand with more obscure ethnic examples. But I suppose that is to be expected from someone who shows a basic lack of common sense.
OP let us know if/when your boyfriend does go sporting his NK shirt around Korea. I'd like to know how long it takes before he is pummelled and/or stabbed. It's just Darwinism at its finest! |

I saw your post last night when no-one had yet replied to it and was about to do so myself but didn't have time. I remember thinking that you were likely to get some pretty immature, idiotic responses and so it proved!
I was going to say that I very much doubt you'd get one in Seoul and suggest the very same mail order company that drunken fud linked above. I've used them (Subside Sports) a few times before and they're pretty reliable.
As to the safety of wearing it, jvalmer is correct IMO. Don't worry about it. |
