The election has been called. It's time to make sure you are on the register and get ready to vote.

New Zealand will go to the polls on November 8, Prime Minister Helen Clark said today.

Clark, whose ruling Labour Party has been well behind the main opposition National Party in opinion polls, made the election announcement in Wellington today.

New Zealand last went to the polls in 2005, and a fresh election had to be held before November 15 this year.

Don't vote. You'll only encouage the scumbags and legitimize their rotten system. Besides, you surely know that it really makes no difference. If I were to vote for any party currently in parliament I would be essentially saying "Yes, I agree that because I'm a white, heterosexual male who didn't go to Auckland Grammar that I'm just a piece of shit. Please kick me again; I like it."
