I'm still researching, which would you recommend flying into, El Nido or Puerto Princesa? I kind of want to take the bumpy taxi and see the country-side.

Which ever one you can get the cheapest ticket into.

Jeepneys, multi-cabs, buses and v-hires are cheap. (think $10 to travel the length of Palawan).

The average v-hire rate is about p1.2 per km per seat (if you need an extra seat for your luggage you may have to pay for it).
Jeeps and multi-cabs are about 1/2 that. Buses are about o0.3 per km.

Just don't plan to be anywhere on any set schedule because transportation will take MUCH longer than you thought it would.

I play WOW with a guy from the Philippines. I was considering going during Christmas, but he said that that's the rainy season. I hope he's wrong; I'd love to plan a trip.

bohol is overated - did nt love our time there. Alona beach was lamer than lame. Apparently, the beaches on the other side are better. Bee farm was interesting tho. Chocolate Hills are a "just get the photo and leave" thing. Tagbilaran is not a great city. Nuts huts and Loboc river was good for culture and seeing rural life. Jagna was also nice, a LOT of looks tho if you are female...but not creepy looks.

CAMIGUIN is where it is at! Love this little island! The people are hands down some of the friendliest I have EVER met!!!! Its s small island, u can rent a bike and drive around in a day basically. The beaches arent great (its black sand) minus of COURSE the AMAZING white Island (a sandbar really) and Mantique Island which is nice. But it is so chill, and laid back - it is island life. You can clumb Hibok Hibok (we didnt because it is rainy season), see some hot springs. OH GO CANYONING! Stay at Camiguin Geckos Action or whatever, and arrange to go canoying down the Kinbawasan (spelling) Falls! SOOOO AMAZING!!!!!!!!! They do other tours also but that is the only one we did.

Palawan is nice also. START st Puerto Princessa, because the journey towards El Nido is almost better than El Nido itself! Also, the underground River is great. Sabang is an amazing city with, AGAIn, the NICEST ppl!! Go from Port Barton (ok, but nothing special)...and ask to stay at Cacnipa Island - VERY quiet, only good for a night or 2 unless with a boy or a girl Wink But BEAUTIFUL!! El Nido is nice, but I didnt like all the tourists. Apparently, Coron is nice if you have the time.....Philippines is amazing. You really cant lose!

Was in Boracay for 7 days at the end of August. The wife and I both had a great time.
