Is this possible? I've red both yes and no to this question in my searching.

I have XP 64 and would like to transition to Vista 64 for Direct X 10, etc.

Need to know if I should bother downloading it or give up.

Vista Ultimate x64 is the best OS I've ever used.

I should clarify. Is it possible to upgrade without a clean install.

These links say no:

This is just confusing:

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Yes-You-Can-Upgrade-32-bit-Windows-XP-to-64-bit-Windows-Vista-56504.shtml

It says yes in the title, but the article seems to say no and only addresses 32 bit.

Traxxe, it should work if you set your PC in the BIOS to boot from CD-ROM. Then put in the Vista x64 disc, restart, and when prompted, boot from CD.

Pooty, My pleasure. Welcome to the world of realists who use Vista and know it's good.

230,000Krw - but this purchase was "off the books" because I didn't want my wife to know about it, therefore I couldn't use my credit card...had to use the black money fund. If I'd just been willing to wait and order online, I could've saved about 20-30 bucks. Razz
