Did your "boss" or "school" give you something for Chuseok.
I work for a national university and was told that in my case getting a gift is mandatory. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Is this the case for others? |

Very pleasantly surprised. Felt a bit guilty even as I am already paid quite well. |

My 'boss' gave me two 'extra' days (Fri. & Tue.)... still waiting for the turtle doves... probably until Christmas. |

Are you a foreigner that is happy with any leftovers or scraps you can get for major holidays? |

All profs (외 and 한) pay into the department fund for things such as this (and for nights out eating/drinking). The Korean profs got a gift for Chuseok, the waegukins were left empty-handed. Again. |

If you've not gotten your health insurance set up by now, I think it's safe to say you're never going to get it. Better take a paid day off and visit a broker. With stories going around like the one about the guy who had the motorcycle wreck, I'd not be insurance-less for long here. Couple of days, max. |

I didn't really understand who this was directed to, or what it means. Can anyone explain this? |

CPT,
Does that mean that this year was different and you didn't get a gift? |
