|
|
Met a K-girl over the weekend, and I want to ask her out in Korean. Everything I've found on google suggests something serious...like asking her out to start a relationship instead of asking her to go out on the weekend, or to the park, or to the movies...etc.
Oh yeah...also, anyone in Daegu want to play basketball this weekend? |

"홍콩에 가자"
If she's young she might not understand what you are after. *wink wink* "What, he wants to go to Hongkong with me? WTF?" |

My translator widget is giving me this for "Do you want to go out this weekend?:
너는 이 주말 나가고는가 싶는가?
I'm curious to see how close (or how absurdly far away) this is from being right. |

Be warned. Korean girls are notorious for sending signals that they weren't intending to send. Don't be too disappointed if she shuts you down. |

Is there anything that sounds less formal? For example, how "you wanna go out on a date this weekend" is different from "you wanna hangout this weekend?" |

You guys are giving him 반말!
BTW OP, don't EVER EVER EVER EVER use a translator. Those things are so inaccurate.
I asked my Korean friend and here is what he recommends:
주말에 만나서 영화볼래요?
주말에 시간있으세요?
주말에 밥이나 같이 먹을래요?
주말에 데이트할래요?
주말에 저랑 놀래요? |

One of the primary reasons Korean women date us Westerners is because of our English ability and because we're different.
Yeah it's okay to speak Korean from time to time, but again, they are usually attracted to us becase of our English ability.
So simmer down on the Korean (at first) and asking the girl out in Korean is a biatch move.
It's been almost four years here in Korea for myself and in the end you gotta do what you gotta do, but I base my thoughts on experience.
Good luck. |

Yeh, Korean women love a man who can't even order his own meal. It lets them play mommy without even having a kid. |

No, if you're with a Korean women and having dinner or riding in a cab, it's fine to speak the language.
I'm just saying it's probably not a good idea to try to ask out a Korean girl in Korean.
That's all. |
