Died of cancer today after a short battle.
Very underrated gentleman. Wrote some of my favorite PF songs....Remember a day, Summer '68, Paintbox.
Gilmour: "He was gentle, unassuming and private but his soulful voice and playing were vital, magical components of our most recognised Pink Floyd sound." |

As Pink Floyd is my favorite band, I am extremely sad that he passed away. He wrote two of my fave songs from DSOM: The Great Gig in the Sky and Us and Them. I am so sad. |

Remember A Day is a fantastic song. We all should.
Sad to see him go.
I wonder if this will lead to a reunion tour/album??? Something has got to lead to Gilmore and Waters forgetting and letting go. |

Richard's death didn't really sink in at the time as I'd just arrived back in Korea and was experiencing renewal blues, but I've just been watching the making of Dark Side of the Moon again when the band started talking about this. With such powerful vocals, it's easy to forget just how beautiful the strings are on this track. |
