I like how McCain, who used to be known for his "stratight talk" is now totally distorting Obama's record. When asked on the View whether his commercials were distorting Obama's record (something every media watch said he is doing including conservative ones) McCain said no, they are the truth. When the host of the View accused him of lying, McCain still insisted it was the truth. McCain even insisted that Palin never endorsed the so-called bridge to nowhere but the record clearly shows that she favored it before she was against it (ala Kerry). This is yet another example of McCain's bold faced lying. McCain has sold his soul for a shot at the Presidency. McCain might not have been that bad but he has really blown it by bringing in all of Rove's minions and selecting Palin.

The whole Palin thing is so over-produced it might as well be a made for TV movie. Rove is an evil genius but if McCain does lose, his place in history will be seriously sullied. I'm sorry I don't vote for blatant liars. I miss the straight talking McCain.

Obama seems like a dufus-putz-moron to me. When he opens his mouth, all this bile comes out.

I guess this is a lose-lose situation ONCE AGAIN. Politicians. What can you do? There was maybe one good politician I can think of back in Canada: Frank McKenna. He was only Premier of New Brunswick. He rejected the idea of becoming Prime Minister. Other than that, can't think of any other good ones.

But this dork of a running mate of McCain's? What the fk is that?

bile? from obama? i challenge you to find 5 examples of bile. and what does not count is kneejerk retaliations against outlandish claims from the other side that he's a muslim, is underqualified, and assertions of his intelligence (therefore somehow making him a snob, but in actuality it is just a part of his character). I EDITED THAT BECAUSE I'M DRUNK.

mccain has no character. he sounds like a robot who has no genuine interest in other people's lives.

at least with george w. bush you got a dumb guy who wanted to have a beer with you. dumb people are often entertaining. how's that for an election strategy? "i'm a fool, elect me!" 8 years of that and you're aiming towards "i'm your annoying grandpa who can't shut up about regressive shit that nobody wants to talk about, elect me!"

are you people serious?

anyone considering mccain and palin deserves, on election day, to have a massive media event where masks are taken off and the P and VP say "haha, just kidding, it was just us, garfield and odie! we were wearing these awesome human costumes, and you morons totally bought it!"

umm... Obama is a Muslim. That is according to Islamic Law.

He was born to a Muslim father.

OBAMA"S DAD WAS A MUSLIM, THEREFORE< AT LEAST LEGALLY< ACCORDING TO RELIGIOUS MUSLIMS (AND COUNTRIES SUCH AS SAUDI ARABIA< SYRIA< IRAN AND EVEN MALAYSIA!!!!!!)

OBAMA IS INDEED A MUSLIM!!!

Now, maybe he has rejected his birthright...which of course opens him up to the death penalty in many countries...

but the FACT is a FACT...he is (logically) considered by a billion people to be a Muslim.

i could point out the idea that a billion people are dumb for asserting that a guy with a fully boring western education and life experience could somehow be a cavedwelling missile-stealing threat to the american dream....

but no, he's not.

but wait! his name rhymes with osama, quick! everyone please instantly turn into morons! we need to keep the country safe! and, horror of horrors, he's half n*****r!

i feel much safer with a worldly guy behind the wheel than a team of 1. an old guy who is unhealthy and has war baggage that clouds his judgement and 2. a stone dumb bitch who has little palpable experience.

try just voting for pieces of fruit or lawn furniture. footwear. insects. boiled cabbage. it's really more effective.

WTF are you people smoking. Obama is just as inexperienced and he's running for f-ing President for christs sake.

McCain's selection of Palin is genius. Anyone who points a finger at Palin and her inexperience will be called a hypocrite for not pointing that same finger at Obama.

Fake it till ya make it man. Obama's little international presidential candidate journey went off pretty well. When was the last time anyone outside of the USA was happy when someone with the title President of the United States of America (even if the title is followed up by "nominee") showed up at their doorstep to pay a visit.

The Europeans couldn't get Bush in and out fast enough when he did his little farewell tour.

Who gives a flying *beep* what anyone who isn't an American voter thinks? They're not selecting the next U.S. president.

Perhaps, but it's McCain/Palin who will win the election, not fruit or footwear.

i'm at the point where i'll make wagers about this. obama is going to win. what do you want to bet? like, the loser can't post about political issues for a month?

in the US there are more people who are sick and tired of eight years of darth cheney and his down's-syndromed marionette, and who don't see mccain as being all that different.

and you didn't address the fact that "no he's not a muslim".

he isn't. he's a boring milquetoast east coast intellectual faux-christian who talks about god to win votes.

and even if he was a muslim, how would that affect his judgement? it's like saying bush and cheney can't run the country because they're christian zionists!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Zionism

oh wait, maybe they are...

Wagers, eh? The stakes are political posting privileges lost for a month? We might have to come up with something better than that. I won't need to post for a while after the election, whatever the outcome.

McCain is a standard douche.

Obama is a super-douche.

Obama will lose.

Stakes?

I would vote for Obama simply on the basis of who he is. I give very little thought of who has or doesn't have an Masters in politics or an Mba.

We have A) A man of mixed heritage.

A man who fought past the racially stereotypical image of
what a black man should be.

A man raised by both a single monther and his grandparents

A man who has travelled the world, been exposed to other
cultures.

B) A man who thinks middleclass constitutes making
around $4,000,000 a year. Rolling Eyes

If it were not such an important election it would be laughable.

i think you will need to post after the election because you'll be complaining about the dreaded outcome - "oh no! i'm anticipating a budget surplus! peacetime prosperity! a rise in employment! corporate near-accountability! all accomplished by a communist muslim!" and looking for info on where to find the seoul chapter of the jon birch society.

oh and stakes - i'll up the ante.

1. no political posting for 1 month from the date the winner is announced.
2. one post of a picture of the loser wearing a dunce cap. i'll let you post it to my flickr page if you can't host it yourself.
3. you're only allowed to post new threads on this board if you're sharing a recipe for some delicious main course.

Sarah Palin is an inspiration to women everywhere!

She's proof that if you're pretty and work hard, then a rich older man can sweep you off your feet, all the way to the White House.

seriously - do you want another person who says "nuculer" for "nuclear" anywhere near any sort of power? think *bleep* hard, folks.

(mod edit)

Nukular is a Carterism.
