Sorry, I forgot. Dannylelievre can you please PM me. I have a few questions to ask you.

I have an account with SC and they are telling me that I can not get an international ATM card.

Which location did you deal with?

Thank you.

I tried to get an international visa debit card (not even asking for credit!) at a Nongyhup today. I said that I wanted to buy something off ebay, but I couldn't with my British visa debit card because the seller said he'd only ship to my UK billing address, and not my shipping address (problems before with fraud he said, notably Indonesia and Nigeria).

I told the teller that I have an F-2 VISA and I've been in Korea for eight years, and haven't lived in the UK for eleven, but it was the same answer as before. We don't give international cards to foreigners. Furthermore, every time I do manage to make an international purchase with my LloydsTSB card I get hit with an overseas transaction fee of a quid.

It's frustrating as I'm probably a long term resident here with a korean family to support, but have to rely on my wife so much for relatively small everyday things we have to do.

My KB atm card worked like a champ when I was in Thailand all last month. My samsung card did as well but that's a different deal.

I'm with Woori bank and have had an int. debit card for one year now. Mind you, it TOTALLY depends on the teller you're dealing with and if they're having a good day. I was denied by one so just went to another branch and got it Wink

What does your card look like? I just got a new one that is supposedly international. The teller that hooked me up speaks decent English and she tried to explain that before they weren't VISA network (or whatever) but now they are. With the VISA logo on the front of the card it is supposed be international. I don't know yet though. I guess I'll try an online purchase with it and find out.

Maybe they forgot to turn off the international feature. Is it a green one? "Maestro" on the front?
