|
|
I'm currently doing a bit of research into the differences between the acquisition of English articles by German native speakers and Korean native speakers. In an effort to pin down some of the differences in an objective manner, I'd like to gather data from (10) native speakers of German who did not live in an English speaking country until after they were 13. If you know of anyone who might be interested in helping me out, please send me a PM. Bonus if they have a TOEIC score.
I know it's a long shot, but there ain't many German native speakers in Wonju...
Cheers. |

I would call Universitites. I teach in a small one and we have a German prof. in the German dept. Just ask for the German dept. and leave a message. |

Thanks everybody for your replies. Toon Army, I've already posted a request for help on the 'Germans in Korea' page, but unfortunately, no success. Juregen, thank you for the offer, but I've decided to go with Germans, because I'm a native speaker of German myself. If I were to use Dutch speakers, which would in principle also work, I'd have to do extra research into the Dutch article system and rewrite too much of my current work. Also, I wouldn't be able to rely on my own knowledge as I am with German subjects.
In the end I'll have to follow the advice of several PMs and aka Dave, I'll contact German departments with a request to forward the questionnaire to any German instructors that may be working at their institutions.

There's a German international school in Seoul. Maybe you could connect with some native speakers through the school.
