I was in Korea earlier in the year and left my contract half way because my employer was disregarding major portions of the contract and applicable labor laws. I pulled a runner, as it were, and I'd like to come back now, obviously to a better employer. I'd like to return to the same relatively-small sized city (albeit with a fair number of FTs), but I'd heard in the past that you should wait until your original E2 would have expired.
I could reapply for a visa early December by that measure...or I could go ahead and apply now, and see what happens. Does anyone know if I'll get flagged if they see my past visa? If so, would they just tell me to wait, or would it be harder for me to get one in December?
If I look for a public school gig, does that resolve this issue?
Thanks for the help |

1. It's my understanding that without a letter of release from your previous employer, you will have to wait until your visa expires in December.
2. You might want to reconsider returning to the same town since you have already made an enemy there.
3. No, working at a public school would not change your visa status. |

Just freaking call immigration! Yes, IF your old ahole employer didn't cancel your visa, then you'll have to wait. However, smaller schools have a limit on how many foreign puppys they can import, so they might have cancelled your visa as soon as you flew. Call. |
