Anyone know if they show the games in the evening? Or do I have to resort to the internet?

I don't mind doing so... does anybody have a site that will allow me to watch the games whenever I want?? High res is preferred. And I don't mind paying either.

Hope someone can help me out... or else I'll probably get fired if the Red Sox go to the World Series.

If you don't want to do mlb.com or torrents, you could get satellite tv. There's actually an entire Korean channel devoted to Mlb but you need sattelite (I think it's "Sky"). I had it when I worked for a hagwon but my boss signed for it. Here at the Univ. I'm on my own so I get crap cable. But I bought the mlb.com package, which is excellent because you choose when you watch games.

Btw, nfl Game Pass HD is INSANELY good, I spend my entire week watching football (I have so many fantasy teams I have interest in nearly every game. Usually I want the score to be 55-53 Smile ), and the quality is excellent HD.

SBS sports (cable, not satellite) has games live on TV almost everyday. Don't know if it fits your schedule or not, but in the past they covered the Wild Card all the way to the Series.

X-sports channel on Korean cable is the way to go. They show almost all the playoff games and all of the World Series. Plus, they replay the games every night in case you missed the game earlier. October is one of the best months for sports(MLB playoffs, NFL, CFL, college football in full swing). For Major League Baseball, X-ports is the way to go.

I'm pretty sure it's Xports. Which doesn't make sense, but whatever.

Okay, so... I have cable. I have X-Sports. In the beginning of the season they showed the game live in the morning and then replayed it in the afternoon or evening.

But a month or two into the season they stopped doing it.

So are you guys saying they start doing it again for the playoffs??

Also, does anyone know how complicated/expensive it is to set up the MLB package?? I mean there's only one more month of baseball... is it pro-rated, or do I have to pay for the entire season?? Anyone know who I should call??

I now have xsports on cable, last year I had Sky.

You pay more for Sky, but if you're a big baseball guy, you'll get what you want.

Hey,

I don't watch too much baseball until it gets playoff time. However, I've watched the playoffs and World Series on Xports since 2005. I would say they showed 95% of the playoff games and they showed them live(with a game or two usually replayed at night). They showed ALL the World Series games live. No problems there. The MLB.tv package. I'm not sure about that one. I'm sure that you probably get a massive discount at this point in the season. I'm not sure they would show postseason games on that site. I think it is only for the regular season(not sure). But X-ports is really the only channel you need for baseball here because they do show a lot of games.

I tried channelsurfing and it sucks. You forced to watch whatever they're showing at the time. I've never seen a page where you can choose what you want to watch. MLB.tv is prorated I believe. They probably have a playoff package. But I think live games are blacked out due to TV rights, but the games are available shortly after the game is over. At least that's what the fine print says.

By all playoff games do you mean Xports plays all games from every series? They would have to pay up the butt for those rights. I hope you're right though.

I'm sure that other people who have been in Korea and watched the baseball playoffs and World Series on Korean cable can vouch for X-ports. Yes(and as I've said, I've watched the playoffs and World Series on Xports since I've been in Korea) and they show all the playoff series and they do it live. They replay later at night. As I recall from last year, I think that they didn't show 2 games because it coincided with a Korean event like golf Rolling Eyes , so that was the only reason why. So, my figure of upward of 95% is right. And the World Series games...they show all of them. Live. Now, unless they've changed this year, it should be the same. But if you have Xports, definitely don't pay to watch baseball on the Internet. You're wasting your money on that.

My co-teacher called a few places... it turns out that in the middle of this year, X Sports decided not to replay the games at night. Apparently that won't change during the playoffs. So if you're looking to watch the playoffs after work on X-Sports, don't count on it.

Skylife costs like 300,000 grand to install, and they require some ridiculous four year contract.

I really don't know what to do here. I need to watch these games. Yes, NEED to

You guys might have something here. I've been checking out Xports the last few days and they have changed a bit from what they used to be. I notice a lot more Korean baseball on there. K-baseball is usually on MBC ESPN or some other channel, but it seems that they are playing more game on Xports that used to be devoted to MLB in the past. It might have to do with the Korean team winning gold in baseball and Koreans wanting to see more of their players or something. The timing seems like it might be related to that. Don't know. But in the past, Xports was really top notch for MLB action. It might be different this year. I'm pretty sure they'll show the live playoff games and World Series, but the replays might be nixed this year. That would definitely suck if you have to work in the morning. Not a problem for me, but for others...

By the way, MLB.tv doesn't seem to have video for the playoffs. You can get audio, but that seems to be it.

Wow. I am nearly in tears at the prospect of not watching my Red Sox in the playoffs. Here is the Xsports schedule (unfortunately it is only planned for the next few days):

http://www.xportstv.com/schedule/schedule_day.asp?today=20080928

Anyone who can read Korean care to summarize? Do they show generally show replays late that night or the day after?
