Does anyone know if and where I can take Muay Thai classes in Seoul?
I did a month of Muay Thai training in Bangkok last year, and really miss it.

I'm in Gangnam area. I read about a Muay Thai gym in this area actually, but the website was in Korean. I totally forget the name of it. I'd like to train mostly for a cardio workout. I have my own gloves etc.. |

theres a muay thai gym near mia station (line 4). Its on the main road, pretty easy to find. But its quite a trek from gangnam. |

I've been looking for a good muay thai school with instruction on the weekends, but I think I'm basically out of luck.
I live in Dongjakgu so anything 35 minutes from there by subway and bus is fine. |

I found this website that I think is the gym near Mia St. that dingo_man suggested.
The gym offers kickboxing and Muay Thai. There is a phone number you can contact. Nice, 'Hero' music too.

I'm still looking out to see if there is a Muay Thai gym in Gangnam if anyone knows. |

Ooh, I'd be curious to hear from someone who's gone there. I work pretty close to Mia station so that'd be a great find if the gym was decent. |

Eh, gotta learn somehow, right? I refuse to believe that Seoul is brimming with hardcore Muay Thai vets who will laugh any beginners out of the building. My only hangup (outside of being woefully out of shape) would be the language barrier. |

I can't comment about this particular gym, but I started from zero at a muay thai gym in yangsan (suburb of Busan), and it's been great. The language barrier isn't an issue... just watch and do.
And you're right I doubt they're assholes. The gym owner wants your money, they'll be nice to you and make sure you have a good time. |

I live in Gangnam, and every day I walk past a Muay Thai gym - it's just a few steps from exit 4 of Nonhyeon Station. Never been in to check it out, but many times have seen the teachers/students/dudes with funky sweatsuits sitting out front having a smoke. |

Is there a name for this gym that you noticed? Is it on the first or second floor? Thanks for that information. |

Sorry, didn't notice the name - it's on the third floor of the building, I think. When you come up Exit 4, there's a Dunkin Donuts. Keep walking straight (west) for no more than 20 or 25 metres - it's in the next building.
Again, can't attest to the quality, but the track suits are slick and have pretty colours. |
