I promised a guy I'd mention his International party tonight.
Here is what he said:
HANA International Party
9/20PM Saturday at 8pm
Dating auction, making random couples, random couple dancing, hip-hop dancing, etc.
Where: HANA International Cafe & Pub in Shin-chon Seoul
Fee: 15,000 includes unlimited draft beer & food
Leave Shinchon subway exit 3 and walk past Hongik book store toward Yonsei university, then Starbucks, then cross the road, then pass Pascuzzi and Angel In Us coffee. Keep going past Tour Le Jours, and it's in the 3rd/4th floors above ALO (across from yet another Starbucks).
It's a meeting party kind of thing. |

ya... he can't post it himself because he got banned for spamming the boards with his ads.
Now he has you to do it for him. |

He did? That's too bad. I thought his ads were appropriate and FAR less annoying than some other things I see here. |

I went to one of those CRAZY HAPPY INTERNATIONAL PARTY parties 2 years ago.
For 15 bucks, all you can drink beer is ok. It's pretty much a chance for Koreans to practice their English (free conversation lessons) and to hook up with westerners. If you are new to Korea, single and don't being being used (and maybe doing some using yourself), it's not bad. If you know the lay of the land and how to get a girl, you may be better off if you want a real girl that lasts for more the one night or until the free lessons are gone (or she finds a better mate). |

Actually, I met a Korean guy in Itaewon on the street, and he gave me a flyer. That's who I talked to. He was a college kid passing them out. I thought it might be of interest to people, so I passed it on. I put the thing up 3 hours before the event. Odd thing is, I was the one who mentioned that I could put a mention up on here, because I thought it might be a fun event for lonely newbees to attend.
Don't be such a self-righteous jerk, Tompatz. True, you help people out, but you do it with expectations of having your butt kissed.
You appear to help others to pump yourself up -- you don't come across as someone interested in helping just to help.

I went, but left early for something else.....it was alright....I might go to the regular language exhange meetings as I've heard very good things about them.
As for the english level of the girls....about the same level of konglish as the average adjumma co-teacher....but workable...
One huge downside was that it was somewhat of a sausage fest.....every foreign guy in town looking for ass showed up.... : I was sorta in the same boat, but it felt sleezy as hell....I perfer nightclubs for this sorta thing... |

Actually, Bass, I was a bit harsh-true, you stepped in it, but you help a lot with your podcasts-I apologize for my invective.
Tom keeps referencing some einstein who was pontificating about how he wasn't a newbie, tht he's been here for 3 months. |
