I can find a dartboard and I can find darts online from Korean sites.

What I cannot find is a backboard, the board that protects the wall from stray darts. I found a cabinet, but it is too small and we just need the protective board. I have also found a foam ring that fits over a dartboard, but this isn't big enough.

This is an example of what I'm looking for:

I'd rather not buy a $50 backboard in the US and pay $40 for shipping to Korea, but I may have to unless a wise soul can help me out....

Cheers, BB

Alternatively, if u have a big sliding door on ur balcony u could just hang it from the ceiling in front of it and just open the door when u play.

Thanks for the replies, but neither help me find a backboard. Spliff, your hanging board idea sounds nice, but missed darts still hit problematic areas and a hanging board would move constantly and would not catch darts properly.

I started this thread as a last resort and a hope that someone in Korea would sell backboards.

Sounds like some dumpster jumping might solve the problem BB.

I'd imagine that 3 to 5 dumpster checks under 20+ floor apt. buildings would yield something resembling a back-board.

I drew out a plan for the backboard I wanted and went to a DYI shop. It ended up costing W40,000 for the board. Next I dought a floor mat from Home Plus (W16,000) and cut it to fit the board. I didn't stain or finish the wood but it looks nice.

Kind of regret buying it. I have all the tools I need to make anykind of furniture but, unfortunately, no place to do it.

That was an idea I had, but I'd rather buy one ready to go.

You say you regret getting it. Interested in selling it?

I regret the fact that I had to get someone to make it for me. I built custom furniture and built houses in the past. I truely miss having a space to build things.

The shop had to charge so much as he had to cut a full sheet of plywood and it was not an efficient use of the wood (I wanted an oversize board). But, it only took him 30 minutes to make all the cuts. I took it home, assembled it, and hung it in about 1hour.

The dart places here are WAY over priced. I paid $25 for a set of 90% tungston darts. Same darts in Korea were W160,000. Crazy.
