I've never seen it in bottles here, but I feel your pain.
Don't pay 1000W a can for it. You can go to Shinsegae department store and get an armful for 500 won each. |

| Haitai makes ginger ale now. Obviously not as good as Canada Dry or Schweppes, but they sell it by the case on Gmarket (and in the local mom and pop store 100m from my door). Decent enough if you're using it for mixed drinks. Gin and ginger....mmmmmm. |

| You can also make home-made gingerale. There are recipes on the net, but make sure you do things right. It could explode and make a mess so put it where it wouldn't be a problem. |

Being a Windsor boy, yeah. I have to say Vernors and vanilla ice cream. Mmmm. Let's not forget Faygo Red Pop. |

I make my own sodas when I have the space in my apartment. You'd have to do something REALLY pear-shaped to get the recipe to explode on you. |

| I would kill for Vernors...or at the least a gingerbeer of some sort. There's a funky Korean ginger ale but it's really weak. It doesn't quite tast right, but if you're really desperate for a ginger ale you can try that. When I get to the mini market near me I'll look up the name....I think it's produced by Hatai (sp?). |

Faygo Red pop with french vanilla ice cream or a bottle of Rock-n-Rye. Both would be wonderful as well |

Does anyone know what happened to the Korean brand ginger ale? I believe it was Haitai Ginger Ale - it used to be sold in Emarts and some GS Marts/7-11's.
I can't find any as of late and need something to mix with my Rye |

Absolutely LOVE Vernors!
However, I always had this strange thing happen whenever I would open a fresh can/bottle. As I would take the first sip and breath in the escaping gases, my lungs would kind of seize up and I would cough a bit.
Has anyone else experienced this? It only seems to happen with Vernors. |

I couldn't help but laugh at this. There is a joke/saying in Michigan that goes with this, it goes along with the "you might be a...(whatever)" lists.
You might be a Michigander if you can drink Vernor's without coughing/choking.
I don't know why it happens with Vernor's or what little extra something they put into their soda but it tastes so good. |

| So who knows about Haitai brand ginger ale (the Korean brand)? That's the reason I brought this thread back to life. |
