It's supposed to be good for raising a (man's) lowered libido...Is this effective for women, too?
Also, what is the proper way to take it for it to actually work (for general purposes)? I know there are several forms it comes in, but is one form more effective than others?
Red ginseng seems to be the best from what I read.
Should I buy it at the kiosks at Dongdaemun/Namdaemun? Is it cheaper there? |

Mix ginseng powders with honey, then put 2-3 spoons into coffee/tea/milk/water...etc
If ginseng you bought are not powders, take that to market to make powders, the best way to do that is when you buy ginseng, ask a store owner to make powders, they usually do that for you.
I have ginseng powders at home, honestly I don't really care about ginseng, but my mom keep sending ginseng powders to me all the time. |

Exercise is good for increasing your libido. Over the past year my sex drive has taken a dive and I feel more relaxed with myself - whether this is a direct result of a lower sex drive I can't say but walking around a city in Korea used to drive me nuts (or drive my nuts, depending your point of view). |

Ginseang is good stuff. You can get it at Lottemart.
Make sure you take it the same time every day, heat it ( a little- like in a microwave for 30 seconds), and take it for at least a couple weeks before you expect serious results. |

I'm not sure how common this is, but some people don't deal with ginseng well. I drank ginseng tea regularly for several weeks because I'd heard it was healthy but it led to crazy heart palpitations which made me unable to sleep and made me think I was dying haha. I haven't met other Westerners with this problem, but several Koreans have told me that either they or someone they know suffers from the same side effects. |

Does this mean that buying it at the Lotte Dept. store is expensive?
Where is the Lotte Mart closest to Gangnam?
And when you mean "take it" do you mean in powered form, or in tea form? Which is the most effective? |

As an earlier poster mentioned, you have to be careful with ginseng. Some people are too sensitive to its effects. I would choose red ginseng or even better visit an oriental medical doctor and ask them to prepare you an energy drink that is tailored for your body and health concerns. |

I noticed that when my stress levels go up, I have stronger inclination to "get physical".
Also eating meat increases Libido.
Drugs (in general; coffee, aspirin, etc ....) have the opposite effect |

I had sex once after we both took an "energy pill" with ginseng and some other stuff.... wow. If you have low/no desire it probably won't help. You have to already want to have sex, then it makes it better.
Ginseng is a blood thinner so I generally avoid it. I wouldn't take it every day. |

If it's a thinner, isn't that bad on the little fellow?
Aspirin is a blood thinner(sometimes used by people with chloesterol problems), and if you get a cut it can take longer to heal. Why is it you won't take a blood thinner? |

I was thinking to get some as I saw lots of red ginseng at Lotte, but if the side-effects are as bad as what you've all said, why do people buy it? and why do places like Lotte have such a huge section just for it? |

I actually bought some of the famous brand...I think it's 홍삼농축액.
I was at Kim's Club and went to the ginseng shop. Got 10 small vials of liquid for 20,000. I am going to take one a day and I will report back with feeling/side effects.
I have to say I don't really feel all that energetic, and I took one at 8am...it's now 10:35am.
Does anyone know if ginseng works immediately, or if the user needs to take it for a while to see effects (like vitamins)? |

From stuff I've read on the internet in the past I think it takes a coupla weeks or so.
Watch out for side effects in the mean time. |

Late reply, but I won't take it because I have a blood disorder and my blood is already too thin. |
