sandisk and transcend use a hologram sticker for verification.

you should have seen it on the box that your SD card came in. put the sticker on the front of the SD card itself. if the card ever fails, contact the company and if you have the hologram, you're right as rain.

there's no reason why any size SD card wont work in the D2. hell, get yourself a new 32gb sd card and throw it in ... the machine might take a minute or two to initially read it, but after that you'll be ok.

SD prices are coming down, a lot ... but it's handy to have a few cards around ... my dslr uses CF cards (i have 4 cards) and my other gear uses SD cards, so i have 4-5 of those floating around. 16gb is my biggest... the old 1gb cards i gave away to a friend to use in his dictionary.

i'm buying a gps unit, it takes SD cards, so i'll throw a 2 gig in there and it'll get me a few thousand waypoints. i've got another 4 gig card full of audiobooks. that goes into my D2 on long trips.

i have the subway map from iaudiophile, but i don't like any of the games.

i did switch out the theme though ... and i added a new loading screen with jessica alba dancing (from sin city).

there's a lot of good stuff on that site. not just for the D2, but also for other pmp devices.

Korea already made 2 hd mp3 players that had better specs than the iPod.

The first was the iRiver H120 and H140. Same capacity as the then current iPods, but had voice recording and line in recording in .wav, FM radio, drag and drop, and optical in and out.

The second was the iRiver H320 and H340. They beat iPod to the color screen, and movies. They had drag and drop, fm radio, line in recording as well as a mic, but no wav recording, just to mp3.

Both were a little thicker than the iPods, but had the same sound quality.

Sadly people didnt buy enough of them, there was little advertising, and iRiver moved out of the hd mp3 player market and sticks with flash memory players.
