"Break even" on what is essentially a 'returned gift'? Rolling Eyes

I'd say getting a 1,000 won for it would see you come out on top, no?

How do you figure if I paid 35 for it that suddenly It was given to me in the first place. I spent MY money on it and it was given back cause it wasn't going to fit in the guys luggage. So to answer your question NO! With an added learn some math skills.

Call me crazy, but when I buy someone a gift, I don't expect a return on my investment.

If for some reason, that gift were 'returned' to me, I would view it as getting an unexpected gift myself (it was unexpected, after all). Thus, anything I could sell it for would then be deemed a 'profit'.

Maybe you just view giving gifts differently.

IF you'd bought it and then later decided it wasn't what you wanted, then of course it would make sense to try to recoup your losses, though offering to resell it at the original price, I wouldn't hold my breath. Coupled with the 'trouble' of arranging a meet with you (I believe you've indicated elsewhere you're unwilling to ship), why would anybody bother when they could go to a store and buy it themselves on their weekly shopping trip?

If you can find someone willing to meet up with you and pay the original price, then all the power to you. But trying to 'break even' on something you bought as a gift for someone...I guess we just come from very different worlds.

I didn't expect to get it back at all... but since I have no use for it I would like to get rid of it for cost or even a small loss is acceptable. 34,ooo won is not. I didn't want it back. It wasn't returned because it wasn't to the taste of the giftee.... it was just given back. Sure that makes it a returned gift BUT... I still paid money for it. It's no worth Less because it was given as a gift. That's like saying if you sell the car your parents GIVE you (or they sell it if you give it back to them) they should actually give it away because it's a returned gift. I don't know what part of Newfoundland your from but it obviously aint the capitalist part.

Anyway is someone wants to meet me and buy it for 30 that'd be fine. I don't care. But a loss of 34,000 won is not kosher.

AND if someone wanted me to ship it I would but it's impractical to ship it and I hear the postal workers are fond of alcoholic beverages. And I don't want to get Spliffed and have someone go on a rant about how I didn't ship what I promised.
