I'm on the prowl, looking for a cheap desktop/laptop. Is there an area in Busan I should go to when looking for discount technology, similar to Yongsan in Seoul?

It's quite odd if there isn't - considering that it's the second biggest(population wise?) city.

Also, if you could get set up to use the internet you could get great deals by shopping online in Korea. I buy all my PC components from Danawa dealers. I've never had a problem and they ALWAYS significantly beat any of the prices the merchants in Busan offer.

Danawa.com and Gmarket are great places to start.

On Gmarket I use a Korean credit card, but perhaps any international card will do. I heard that it is also available in English.

Also, with the Danawa dealers, most expect a bank transfer. They are the cheapest, so they don't want to pay the CC premium.

In Busan there is the computerdome in Myongyon-dong(something like that) its very close to Dongnea station (close to Lotte)
