Besides physical abuse to the children, and not coming in on time. If you're doing your job, but have issues with the management concerning money and them not sticking to your contract (regarding working hours, and they want you to wore more outside of your contract), what does it take to get fired? Keep in mind I am with my girlfriend, so it is a couple position. In a remote part of S Korea.

Just curious.

Getting near the end of a contract and the plane ticket and severance.

At least that's most of the reason why I was fired in month 10.

Getting tired of the crap and lies?

Bank your coin. Get a complete set of new documents.

Hit your 6 month mark and walk out the day after you get paid.

Pop into immigration and complain about your boss and tell them that you quit. Hand in your ARC and take your exit order.

Take the boat to Japan.

Come back later that afternoon or a day (or two or 10) later and get a new job, wiser and better prepared for your search.

Stop showering. I know a guy who did this, granted he wasn't trying to get fired.

It all depends. At some you could get fired for being ugly; at others there is practically nothing you could do to get fired.

I heard through a friend about a guy getting fired the other week for being sketchy. My friend said it was because he was "too nice" to the students and staff, but I don't think he was ever caught or it was proven.

I think everybody just hated the guy and the school thought they would do better without him. Koreans are big on harmony, and the hagwon itself is quite decent. From the sounds of it, I wouldn't have liked him either.

At hagwons like at public schools, if they like you, you can do things pretty much however you like; and if they hate you, they'll find a reason to get rid of you. The big difference is that hagwons often simply cannot afford to get rid of foreign teachers.
