okay so for all you experienced travellers.
i am planning to do the SouthEast Asia trip (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos) at the end of December.
Can you recommend a place to start out and where to go from there? I was thinking Thailand first.....is it alot cheaper to fly to Bangkok and then go to an island from there? Or just to fly straight to the island?
Any comments about any of these places, must sees, dont see etc.....welcome! |

I did this: Bangkok --> Sihanookville (via Hat Lek/Koh Kong) --> Phnom Penh --> Siem Reap --> Phnom Penh --> Ho Chi Minh --> Nha Trang --> Hoi An --> Hue --> Hanoi --> Sapa --> Halong Bay --> Vientiane (overland) --> Vang Vieng --> Luang Prabang --> Chaing Mai (via Huay Xai/Chiang Khong) --> Pai --> Bangkok --> Koh Samui --> Koh Phangan --> Bangkok
It was fun. It took about 3 months. I held off on southern Thailand until the end because I didn't want to get stuck there. Many people just end up wanting to stay there. Plus, it is nice to relax after all of that travel. |
