Witches don't exist?

That is definitely witchcraft.
The New Testament declares that witchcraft does exist (Galatians 5:20). In fact, the word for witchcraft as used in the KJV is the Greek word phharmekeia and it refers to mind altering drugs used to connect with higher spiritual powers. Does this occur today? You better believe it. |
Real witches with supernatural powers do not exist, save for the land the fantasy and in various authors' imaginations.
But, if you're absolutely convinced they do and you have your bible to back you up as the word of God then there's no point in continuing the argument. You will never be convinced otherwise just as you cannot convince me of your opinion.
We'll agree to disagree, but I sincerely hope that you are not shoving these opinions on your students in any way, shape, or form. |

Real witches do exist. Satan works though them. Spiritual wickedness does indeed exist...and witchcraft today is one aspect of it.
Well since the New Testament declares it and the New Testament is the most historically accurate writing from the ancient world I therefore have good historical evidence to support my position.
Being a Christian teacher I get paid to discuss these and other issues. |

| Yiiiiiiiiiikes! Even the Catholic Church says the Bible should not be taken as literal truth. But something tells me you don't believe Catholics are real Christians. |

Yikes? What for?
What kind of truth should we take it as then?
I can deal with Roman Catholicism perhaps in another thread. |

You are a broken record. This is your only argument and you've spewed it time and time again in this thread and others. Threads you promptly abandoned when you noticed the tide was turning against you.
Besides, even the link you provided as evidence for your incredibly repetitive claim showed that the Iliad is older and very nearly as accurately reproduced as the bible, and how much of that is taken as absolute truth nowadays?
Do you really think witch hunts are morally sound in the name of your religion? Jesus preached forgiveness above all else. "Let he who is without sin...", and all that jazz. |

Trinitarian ~
What makes you think that there's any difference between allegations that the executed Nazarene Iesus raised a man from the dead and that tribal women in the far reaches of the world can, perhaps, control passions of the living or some such thing?
Deo volente, you might open your eyes to beliefs other than your own. |

Nope.
The Homeric cycle is far more accurate. |

Nothing about the modern bible is accurate. Check your Nicean Councils history. The novel called the bible is man-made. If divine-inspired (on the outside), it's still created by men.
Devil a serpent? Loaves and fishes? Two by two? Man, pick your myth - the bible's full of them. |

Underwaterbob,
A broken record? That's what I say every time ignorant people attack Christianity. You show me a more historically accurate writing from the ancient world than the New Testament. Put up or shut up.
The Iliad was written earlier than the New Testament but it's first copy that we actually have is hundreds of years later. So that argument of yours just bit the dust.
When Christ talked about those who were without sin should cast the first stone it is about hypocritical judgment...but He d say Christians are to judge (John 7:24).
I can see why underwater is part of your name....your brain is waterlogged.
---------------------------------------------------------
The women and passions? What is that?
------------------------------------------
Nope Homer is not more accurate. When is the first copy that we have of Homer after the original was said to have been written?
-----------------------------------------------
Nope the NT is not based on myths. Just because they contain miracles should be no reason to dismiss them...unless one has an anti-supernatural bias. Time to be more "open minded". |

| Sorry but the New Testament has far more attestation...yes far more. Furthermore I am not going to doubt all the accounts in Homer. Why couldn't they be satanic manifestations intended to deceive. Since there is overwhelmingly more evidence for the authenticity of the events of the New Testament other super normal and supernatural events can be a tool of Satan to hoodwink the unsuspecting. |

With responses like yours is why in one on one debates I tear the opposition apart (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Keep up the bad work...

Would it be too much to ask of Trinitarian to actually talk about the question that was in the OP/thread title and save his missionary work for his own thread?
I really would like to know what happens the real people in Kenya who are accused of witchcraft. |

| What was your evidence Trin? I only saw two fallacies: circular reasoning (the bible says it's true therefore it is) and appeal to popularity (lots of people testify to it therefore it's true). |
