Go to download.com and download BitComet. That's the software that will download movies, tv shows, etc. After you've downloaded that, you can download stuff from many web sites such as mininova.org.
You may or may not need a codec. You'll know this if the video doesn't play on your media player. You can download a codec from download.com.
Other good things to download from download.com are VLC player and Winrar. Winrar is good for opening zipped files. VLC player plays just about anything. You can run into problems at times with Windows media player.
Have fun! |

I use this program that can convert you tube to MP3 files.
The sound quality is below average, but I find all the songs I want, no matter how obscure...
I'll find you the program when I get home. It's free, no spyware, and it's very simple to use. |

This does what EzeWong was talking about: http://www.mediaconverter.org/
Also, once you get your torrent software from BitComet or whatever, try http://thepiratebay.org/; they have pretty much any movie or CD you might want. |

Avoid bitcomet, it is banned on some sites. Most of the geeks on good sites use uTorrent. It is lighter (uses less ram and cpu) and rarely gets tangled up.

I use a Korean service called "folderplus"...it's cheap and incredibly fast. However, you can't use FID numbers to register. I know that's a pain, but ripping 350MB TV shows in less than 2 minutes for 50원 is great. |
