For the past 2 years I've been plagued with mosquitoes, and in every frickin case it's been some apartment that has half a screen window or none at all. Is it really that hard to make interlocking screen windows?

Agreed. So many of my students / K-coworkers come in with mosquito bites all over their arms and legs.. they tell me they get into their apartment.

In all of the apartments I've lived in and visited, none have been fitted with screens over the windows.

I keep my windows shut tight until the bugs are gone. Once I open them, it's not long before I have to shut them tight again for the cold season.

that sux.

my apartment has perfect sliding screens on the outside of every window. Depending on which window i want to open i can move it around.

Why not buy some flexible screen sheet and just glue it or use a staple gun and jimmy it up yourself - its not that hard.

During summer I would leave my windows open until about 8pm. It seemed that it took the moggies a bit of time to get to the 10th floor Wink

If I was a little late, I would have to go on a bug hunt before going to sleep.

My screen functions. Unfortunately, my girlfriend does not:

I was psyched about the cool air last night so I opened my windows. Woke up in the middle of the night trying to figure out why half of my body was itching terribly, thought i was having some sort of allergic reaction. Girlfriend was woken up, scratched my back, and then said "it's the mosquitos coming in the window." I pull back the curtain and find the screen open and one of the windows closed. WTF! I point out the obvious saying "why did you do that - now it's hot in here and we are both covered with mosquito bites". She says "I didn't do it, it must have been someone else".
