I know this thing is coming up and looks to be interesting. Just looking for previous attendees to throw in their knowledge. What's this thing like? What's there to see? Would you recommend going? Appreciate any info.

Been there four times and always enjoyed myself thoroughly. It's considered one of Korea's top festivals and I wouldn't miss it. Just make sure you have a place to crash, on the weekends accommodations are hard to find.

Absolutely loved it. You get to sit outside and it feels real old school. I'd say it's one of the top things to see while in Korea.

Yes. It ends this weekend.

I went last year and this year, and its a tad batter than last year. Its nothing special, but a good way to spend the weekend away from the computer.

Andong also has some of the best restaurants in Korea. (I should know, I lived there for 3 years!)

Think I'll check it out on Friday. It'll be going I assume on a holiday?

I went about five years ago, and had a great time. Highly recommended. I'd go back again if I were in Korea right now.

I'm interested in going this weekend. I noticed the events are spread out. Is there much to downtown (near the bus terminal)? Or is it mostly out at the Hahoe Village?

Most of the events are at the festival ground by the riverside (15 minute walk from the bus terminal) and not at Hahoe Village, though on Saturday night, Hahoe hosts a traditional Joseon fireworks display that is quite nice.

So, who went?

I went on the 4th and 5th and thought it was pretty good, though the essentials, food and drink, were pretty expensive. The performances were, as expected, very good. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to make it out to Hahoe this time and didn't catch the traditional fireworks.

My wife and I were there on the 4th. It was a nice festival, but we didn't stay long. We also went to two other festivals on Friday the 3rd: oriental medicine festival in Yeongcheon and the insam festival in Punggi. We tried out all the free samples and ate lots of great food.

The mask festivle was a blast couldn't find much western food when the craving hit but the Korean food was very good. There was a lot if craft vendors and fun games to play too. The play that cost $5 to get into was sweet and was about the guy who first made the masks. All in Korean but with almost no skills in Korean I understood most of it. I would recomend it for sure. Sorry for typos I'm on my iPod.

I would defiantly go again. I didn't stay too long either, just there for an afternoon and a night. Thanks to all who posted info and advice on here.
