Is there anything the United States is the best in the world in?
Anyone?
Anything? |

And this topic comes up again. I remember it not so long ago. I wrote about America being #1 in conservation of large tracks of wilderness. That we had conservation departments overlooking many of the last stretches of untamed nature on the Earth. Lets hope China doesn't ever get it. |

Here is the reason for this thread:

Yes, we still are #1. Sorry to burst your bubble. |

I was trying to think of how someone could believe this. It sounds like something a high school kid would yell after a basketball game. If your school's team wins, then you, by proxy, are also No. 1 in your little universe. If America is No. 1, then all Americans are the best in our little universe called Planet Earth.
But it seems to me we aren't No. 1, except in our own minds.
So I thought about it. And thought. And I have decided that America does still grow some very good apples. I don't know if they are the best in the world, as I have not gone around the world tasting apples. But I think the selection and quality are better than our neighbor to the south, Mexico. And they certainly are better than Korea's.
So that's my contribution.
How do you like them apples? Would anyone here disagree that America grows the finest apples in the world? |

I'm just curious if that's true and not the Magna Carta??? I might be wrong as it might not be a Constitutive document. |

It's true.
Magna Carta is one of the founding documents in the struggle to establish limited government, but it is not itself a constitution. |
