It's still getting up to 30 degrees in the afternoons where I live but all the male teachers at my school have switched from summer garb to suits/jackets and ties. I feel 'under dressed' sitting here in my dockers and Arnold Palmer polo shirt. Confused

I guess swimming is out of the question! Wink

The ones here wear suits and slippers. I never understood how an olive green checked jacket goes with blue pants and a pink and yellow tie. Some of the combinations I see are so horrendous, I can't help but smile. Laughing

Black suits are white socks was the style of the Two Tone Ska revival 1979. I can remember a bunch of us with our Salvation Army Zoot suits.
Skanking to The Specials.

We were prepared for a flood with white socks.

The suits aren't so bad but some Korean teachers' idea of winter smart-casual... They look like they came right out of a Value Village flyer back home.

Is there a large population of Koreans who are color blind? It may explain a thing or two.

I hadn't notice before until I read this post but an inordinate numbers of teachers here are wearing suits and blazers.

All of my academy students switched to what they like to call, their "winter uniform," which consists of a suit and tie. Hello, it's not winter! Confused

Every time the staff room door opens, I keep expecting 'Huggy Bear' to walk in.

I totally noticed that this morning! I asked my co-worker why everyone was so dressed up... it's funny that it's happening all over Korea.

Yea, this is exactly what I said too. You're right this is a Korea wide thing. I wasn't accustomed to seeing my co-teachers in business skirt suits with a brooch and the men, except the principal, in gray business suits. My over weight co-teacher didn't dress up as I would imagine there's nothing for her to wear but the same maternity dresses she always wears, but the other teachers were all dressed up.

I just mention it because I had a co-worker with the same Arnold Palmer sartorial aplomb and a 2 week shower cycle.
Just a friendly reminder: wear once and then into the laundry.
