I somehow turned it on last Thursday night and been trying to control the temperature setting, but not having luck as it just doesn't make sense to me. It's got a breaker switch below the control, but it doesn't turn off the boiler. As you can see, 89 C is cooking too high. My co-teacher doesn't understand it either as she's never had a unit like this. It's been cooking and cooling at many different temps. I took a bath each night since last Thursday and it was super hot until last night when it went cold. And then when I woke up today, it was back up to a scalding 89 C.

Can anyone tell me how you work this thing? Thanks in advance.

Never seen one like that, but I'm guessing the 'code' button is the main one. Maybe has a bunch of presets that you can punch in.

Are there any kids from your school, living in your apartment block? My coteacher asked them to call round after school & show me which buttons to push on the heating unit. They had the exact same model in their apartment, & knew what to do. Problem solved.

Yes, what looks like a control box as pictured is not acting as a control. I can't find anything else to control this baby nor a way to cut power other than cutting off the power ub the breaker switch box. This water heater is running super hot.

Yes, my school had a guy come over 2 days ago and set it's preset to 40 degrees Celsius, but it had no effect. The water is still a scorching 87 degrees Celsius; that's a hot 188 degrees Fahrenheit. I have determined this hot water heater is not responding to the thermostat temp control. It's eating electricity like crazy and will end up in a huge bill if I don't tame it soon.

It's faulty, someone from the manufacturer or service center will have to come out and service it. This is one retarded design when it comes to the control. It's a Hyundai.

Why not have an on/off switch with an up/down temp control? Simple as 1,2,3. No, it appears to be designed to consume maximum electricity as to support the electric company. And it's directly wired in, bypassing the breaker box.

Finally the handyman boiler installer guy that Hyundai has in my area came out last night to my place to do absolutely nothing. I expected him to remove the thermostat controller, test it, and repair it. My co-teacher, who was present, got on the phone by calling the number on the water heater and she said they weren't very nice to her and wouldn't give an explanation nor offer any tech support or customer service.

The useless handyman just argued with my co-teacher and challenged us so we told him to figure out how to work it if it's not a dysfunctional control and he couldn't so he just chuckled and left.

The problem is Hyundai put on a cheap junk controller with a seriously flawed design from China they know nothing about and refuse to give after sale product support service. They seem to be too high, mighty, and proud to admit and correct a serious flaw or mistake. This water heater is only 1 year old, but wasn't used during the 1st season as no one lived in the apartment. This is absolutely rediculous.

Now the water heater decided to start running at a cool 27 Celsius after it had cooked at 89 for 10 days straight. We did find the preset codes to set it on desired temperature such as 50 Celsius, but the controller is useless. I understand that Korean companies lack after sales product support on just about anything you buy that comes out flawed requiring a fix.

I told my school today that it would only be right for Hyundai to come out and put on a controller that works as it's a new water boiler that I'm going to need control of during the Winter so I don't end up over using electric or having the ondul pipes freeze and break. As you can see, this is a serious problem from an incredibly stupid design flaw that needs attention ASAP as it could result in a crazy high electric bill, a huge ondol repair bill, and a lack of hot water at times when I need it for a shower and cleaning.
