HEY, JUST A GOD-DAMNED MINUTE!
OBAMA IS LESS QUALIFIED THAN SHE IS, AND SHE'S ONLY RUNNING FOR VICE PRESIDENT.
OBAMA DOESN'T HAVE ANY EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE! HE WAS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER!
SHE RAN ALASKA AND A SMALL TOWN!
I DON'T CARE HOW UNINTELLIGIBLY SHE ANSWERS A REPORTERS QUESTIONS. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW SMART SHE IS, IT JUST MATTERS IF SHE GOT ELECTED, SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE! |

Great article. God help you guys if she wins. LOL
I thought that line about both Obama and Palin being about image was spot on. Which image do you want representing you and your country. The church she attends and her pastor are more, much more than enough to put me off her. |

Palin, their last, best hope for victory, and torpedoed the ship essentially.
Even on the most conservative newspapers in America has turned against them.
| Quote: |
But the fact is, we worry he won't have four years. If elected, at 72, he would be the oldest incoming president in U.S. history. He's in good health now, we're told, although he has withheld most of his medical records. That means Gov. Sarah Palin could very well become president.
And that brings us to McCain's most troubling trait: his judgment.
While praiseworthy for putting the first woman on a major-party presidential ticket since Geraldine Ferraro in 1984, his selection of Palin as a running mate was appalling. The first-term governor is clearly not experienced enough to serve as vice president or president if required. Her lack of knowledge is being covered up by keeping her away from questioning reporters and doing interviews only with those considered friendly to her views. |
Not to mention her affair, the kids, the secessionism, etc. If she were a good choice, the thread on her wouldn't be 65 friggen pages. |

I was able to make out that, contra Couric, she thinks the bailout will help average Americans economically, and that it should be seen as part of a broader effort to improve the economy. |
Hehe. Maybe you can accompany her as an interpreter. |

I don't think the video evidence is about her 'executive experience' so much as her professional competence. On that, Obama wins hands down. But then, to be fair, so would a lot of people next to her. |

That is one interpretation - that she skipped the question altogether and just went into the broader picture of how to improve the economy.
Her going into 'trade is good, people shouldn't be scared of trade' was a bit odd. She also kept referring to healthcare reform, which may be some greater contribution to the economy down the road, but it generally isn't much of a Republican agenda issue, generally seen as a strong Democrat agenda issue. 'Healthcare Reform' generally isn't the answer people look for regarding the bailout package or even how to improve the economy though.
There was also a strange part of the interview where Palin kept talking about how everyone was looking for McCain for leadership with this bailout package, when in reality, people were looking for McCain to AGREE to this lose-lose package so he wouldn't stick it to everyone else later about how he didn't agree to it. |

Now Jack, don't hold back. Tell us how you REALLY feel?
Damn liberal elitist media.
If you don't get the sarcasm, then you don't know me
The SNL skit from last Saturday was much more entertaining. |

| The sad thing is someone posted the Palin transcript side by side the SNL transcript. The SNL skit was actually more coherent! |

I thought that line about both Obama and Palin being about image was spot on. Which image do you want representing you and your country. The church she attends and her pastor are more, much more than enough to put me off her. |
The key part of that comparison, though, was this:
| Quote: |
So, sure, Barack Obama might be every bit as much as a slick piece of imageering as Sarah Palin. The difference is in what the image represents. The Obama image represents tolerance, intelligence, education, patience with the notion of compromise and negotiation, and a willingness to stare ugly facts right in the face, all qualities were actually going to need in government if were going to get out of this huge mess were in.
Heres what Sarah Palin represents: being a fat f*cking pig who pins Country First buttons on his man *beep* and chants U-S-A! U-S-A! at the top of his lungs while his kids live off credit cards and Saudis buy up all the mortgages in Kansas
The truly disgusting thing about Sarah Palin isnt that shes totally unqualified, or a religious zealot, or married to a secessionist, or unable to educate her own daughter about sex, or a fake conservative who raised taxes and porked up earmark millions every chance she got. No, the most disgusting thing about her is what she says about us: That you can ram us in the ass for eight solid years, and well not only thank you for your trouble, well sign you up for eight more years, if only you promise to stroke us in the right spot for few hours around election time. |
Great piece of writing. Some good Gonzo moments at the beginning. |

However, it was also apparent that when she was discussing the broader economy, it was basically as an excuse to avoid addressing the bailout specifically. And also that she was repeating a bunch of catchphrases that she had filed away in her mind under the heading "stuff to say when asked about the economy". |
Oh Come on! Everyone knows the bail out is trying to help americans to keep our economy afloat.. but the point was is she was asked about the bail out and she goes on a tangent about health care reform, and job creation? wtf. |

The silence from the Palin supporters on this board is deafening.
Between the Couric interview, the Gibson interview, and the Taibbi article, it's safe to say that the Palinites have gone the way of the Bolsheviks.
