...guy at you new job off of your back. How do I do it?
Just started a new job, and one of the sales guys wants me to give him english lessons and he'll give me "korean" lessons over beer. I said yeah cause we were at a group function and didn't wanna be Mr. Negative already.
I already work hella hours (we all do), and I live in Itaewon (job is in Gangnam) so I need to tell this guy to f'ck off asap.
Also, I just don't really like him. We're the same age, but he's still on the "I banged a girl from NB two months ago, it was awesome" crap(no joke, that was a conversation). |

Tell him OK under the condition that the first hour is Korean lessons. Be all serious and hassle him about books etc. He'll get rid of himself pretty quick. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying that you have a very busy schedule. Although you would love to do it you just can't make time with work, girlfriend, blah, blah blah. That should do the trick just fine. |

I've tried that several times...
The thing is... Ability to speak a language doesn't equal the ability to teach it. Most of the time they don't understand how they learned English, and they can't explain things very well. Particularly over a beer.
You'll learn a lot more if you use a book.
Tell him you aren't interested in more "work" |

Just keep giving him the run around and avoid him. He'll get the picture. |

Ergo sum, never hire a guy to teach a language when he himself speaks only one .... |

Lol, serves you right for being too week to say no in the first place. So go teach like you said you would, or forever be known as a person who does not keep his word.
Can't believe so many agree with you, a reflection on the western teachers here maybe? |

I often read these forums at work but rarely labeled anyone a troll. But this guy definitely is one, an attetion seeking *beep*! good day! |

He from the way he spells defence, I think we may have the British to blame for making him an angry gyopo. I'm imagining some sort of post-cricket match hazing. |

This is your guaranteed way to get him to leave you alone. He wants a free English teacher, but if you insist on YOU getting your hour of Korean FIRST, well that means he has to do work. Too much trouble for free English lessons. |
