I live a few minutes away... so you didn't go to Bulil Falls? that's the best route from Sanggyesa imo. Certainly the most popular as well.

Going there soon via Hamyang-Jirisan shuttle. I assume the H-J shuttle goes to this Ssanggyesa you're talking about.

Has anyone ever gone to the stone temple in the Jirisan area? Don't remember the name of it, but it's a great place. Went there about a year ago.

Hey,

Sounds like a great trip...would you be able to give me some info on how you got there and the hike itself?

Thanks,

Mike

yeah, went to buril falls also, stopped and had a bite to eat at the bottom.

i live near seoul so got a bus from the express terminal on saturday evening to jinju and stayed the night in a jjimjilbang there. then early sunday morning got the 8 am bus from jinju to ssanggyesa, via hadong. got to ssangyesa at about 10 ish and went to the biril falls. the driver who dropped us off kindly told us the last bus back to hadong was at 6.45pm.
it's about 2.5km to biril falls from ssanggyesa. at 12 we left buril falls for samshin peak. the only other hike i've done in korea is seoraksan and this was much different! the path is much narrower in places and there are none of the big stair cases you find at seoraksan either lol. along the trail are some really big rocks worth climbing up on for a great view of the surrounding hills and mountains, because most of the trail walled by trees or bamboo.
it took us about three hours to get up, and because of the uneven rocks and the fact that some of the trail TO the peak is down hill, about three hours to get down. we made the 6.45pm bus with about 3 mins to spare!!
got to hadong at 7.26pm only to have missed the 7.25pm bus to jinju by 1 minute! there are busses to seoul from hadong but the last one was 6.30pm. so we got the 8pm bus to jinju, arrived there at 8.55 and got the 9pm bus back to seoul.

hope this makes sense and is of some help Smile
