Yeah, he votes on which of his fares speak the best english and they get a prize. I think his name is Steve? Can't remember.

I want to meet this guy one day, and turn the tables by speaking fluent english back at him. :)

Korean TV is ok, but I just end up watching Discovery most of the time. Dad loves those historical dramas but they bore me completely.

Booo.

:)

Korean tv= five different camera angles of one shot slowed down so that a ten minute show will actually last one hour.

I asked Hyung-Joo and Seung-Bin what they thought of Korean TV. They said it was poorly written, badly directed and over-acted. But then they had been abroad to grad school.

The weirdest part of Korean tv are the old movies from the 70s and 80s that come on sometimes late at night. They're weird, weird, weird. There seem to be two types, one about modern people who pick each other up and sleep with each other, and then the ones about old-school Korea where people sneak off into crop fields to pull a sly one.
Those movies make people look so base. If anyone's seen one they'll know what I'm talking about. They all look the same.

Tray falling on the head though, that's great stuff. That's quality. They also repeat the same song over and over again so you can use it to learn Korean as well.

I only get MBC and SBS and whatever the other big channel is... It's frustrating to want to watch something just for the sake of watching tv and all they have are infomercials for all but 2 hours a day. There are two soaps that I get a kick outta watching cause they're just like American soaps, which I hate, but being in Korean makes everything okay. The only time I ever watch any significant tv is when on a weekend, one of the stations will play music videos (and it's only happened twice in a month).

My saving grace from boredom at night has been downloading the new seasons of my favorite American shows... so I rewatch those episodes on a regular basis... ("Charmed" "ER" "Scrubs" and "CSI")
